Miss five (aka Vicky) is giving away free envelopes!!! Yay envelopes!! Check it out here!! She is making them out of Hong Kong-ese magazine ads. Sounds super cool! More details on her blog.
Wow!!
I've been procrastinating on posting for a little while but I am back!!
Lots of exciting things!!

From my friend Nicole!
And THE MOST AMAZING envelope Ever!!!! From Tara!! It was so cool!! A nice long letter and a bunch of stickers and post cards and fun things!!! Man, it was hefty!! So amazing! It made me so happy!!
The back! Just as cool as the front!!
OUTGOING:
Reply to Nicole. See that stamp in the corner? From my grandma. I got a bunch of super cool fish stamps and I LOVE them!!!
A letter to my friend Bethany.
To Martina Koehler in Germany!!! This was the first letter I've sent to Germany. How exciting! I always love firsts don't you? I found her through SendSomething. I hope she likes it!!
Then my reply to Megs.
And that's all I have for now. I've been sending a lot of birthday cards out (we have like six september birthdays in the family.).
Also, things I've discovered:
Christian never got my bank robbing postcard!!! I am beginning to wonder what happened to it. My dad was like, "If the FBI show up here because of that, I don't want to talk to them." I think he was kidding but it hasn't shown up yet so I don't know. I didn't put a return address and I used a pseudonym ("the Secret Surgeon") so.... yeah I don't know. Can the post office confiscate suspicious mail???
Also I found out that I can't use first class stamps on international mail because other countries can't tell the amount of postage it represents!! Boo! First class stamps is all I have left right now!! I need to go to the post office.... Thankfully though, my letter to Stephanie arrived safely. But I won't use the first class stamps anymore.
Over and Out and making more mail!!

Yay Three Day Weekends!!!
I wish I could say that all this loveliness that I'm about to show you is the result of hard toil over this glorious three day weekend that we just had.....but it's not. Some of it is from other days too I think. And I think the only bad thing about three day weekends is that the post office has the day off too! :( Nah they deserve it!!
Anyways, lots of pictures!!
INCOMING:
Went to the P.O. box yesterday and got this amazingness from a lady in Wisconsin!!
"Meet me at midnight with the money at the opera house! Or else..." I really really wanted to send this to someone in Australia but I didn't just on the off chance that opera houses were actually open at midnight. But I wasn't sure so I sent it to someone from Send Something.
Then I had so much fun with the first postcard I made that I made this one!! "Lets go rob a bank. Usual time. Usual Place. Be there..." Sent to my friend Christian, I've been warning him about it. Usually my friends say "uh oh" when I tell them I will be sending something amazing their way... I wonder why? The meaning behind the postcard is rather an inside joke which would take a while to explain but he'll get a kick out of it.
And that's all I got for now. I'm working on some more mail. Got a letter from Lynsey today and it was nice. She and Matt are moving to Cyprus! I am going to have a penpal in CYPRUS!! Yeehaw!!!
Today I worked on a bunch of postcards but I don't know if I'll send them out just yet. (I like to keep them around for a little while before I send them out. Weird quirk I know.)

and inside was another envelope that she sent me originally but which was returned to her,
I was so pleasantly surprised, I actually squealed!! ^-^
OUTGOING:
To Milea, my bestie. I wasn't going to do anything super special and then I came up with the idea to propose to her. It says, "Milea Dear? As I present you with these BEAUTIFUL doodled flowers, I have but one question: Will you marry me? (check one)" I gave her the options of "No" "Yes" and "YES 1,000 times!!!" and urged her to pick the last one. As you can see. I thought it would make her laugh.
To Glen Von Runkle in Illinois, I sent a letter in which I described all the people in the lobby of the doctor's office from my last visit and wondered aloud (on the page) about people watching. Then I sent the letter in a prescription bag from Wal-Mart!! And also a sample of my favorite tea. In response to my mail art, my dad said, "Are you sure it's not just a way to get rid of your junk?" Of course not Daddy!!!
My reply to Annette!
a postcard to Miss Jessica in Big Bear!! (she is visiting out there and I promised to send her some awesome stuff.)

Mail Out this week
It's not that I haven't been taking pictures! Or not mailing! I just haven't uploaded them!! (and actually, I just cheat by leaving the card in there...)
OUTGOING:
OUTGOING:
a special thank you for Chip.
This was for a mail project I found online. Details can be found here if you like. The idea is to send a SASE to her and she will send something back. So We'll see what happens. (I decorated my SASE too. Perhaps she will add a doodle of two to it? Let's hope!)
Postcard to Miss Megan .
And finally,
Sorry it's sideways. This goes to Megs in Colorado. Found her through SendSomething. She likes stories!! So I told her an interesting one and included a doodle of my cat in bowling ball form. Yep. That's right! The cat in bowling ball form. Hope she likes it. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some more mail done this weekend. We'll see!

Lots of Exciting Stuff!!!
Exciting stuff!!!!
First
Update from Japan!! Stephanie got my letter late last night (which was actually in the morning for her.) I tried to figure out how many days it took to get there but with the international date line... I got really thrown off. But I think it's about five or six days ish.

Outgoing:
Mattea wrote me a quick letter last week. I was very happy with how this one turned out.
And finally, a reply out to Tara. I feel kinda bad for taking so long with my reply but it's a nice long letter. And the theme of this envelope is the 2012 Zombie-Dinosaur Apocalypse. On the back it has various slogans like "Be Prepared" and "It's Coming" and "Respect the Reptiles" etc. etc. It's great fun. The original one I sent to Kerri. They are a little bit different but same idea goin' on.
Then INCOMING:
A super awesome letter from Milea!!! I love that girl! She is always so sweet!
The back.
Now, it's kinda funny. All this food is a bit of a joke. I lost like five pounds suddenly in a short amount of time so she has been encouraging me to eat more food, more often. Particularly three meals per day (which I happen to be really bad at...). In her last letter she said, "Now don't write me back until you can say you've eaten a lot!!!" So on the back of the envelope she has breakfast, lunch, and snack... and on the front she has dinner and dessert!! So funny! I love Milea!!
And also! I got a SURPRISE!!!!!
Goodies from the mailman!!!! Yeehaw!! I do believe I have the bestest mailman ever!!! His name is Chip and he left two letter openers and two mechanical pencils in our mailbox for me!!! Isn't that sweet?!?!
I think that is all for today. I am working on some stuff that may or may not go out tomorrow... We'll see!
Treasure Hunting
You have gotta love them rummage sales!!! On Saturday, we went to a place called the Swap Meet and basically it is like a GINORMOUS rummage sale. Or lots of little garage sales. Either way...
I honestly thought the day was going to be a bust until the very end. The last place we stopped by had this box of fun papery items. All sorts of black and white photos and cool postcards and old stuff!! It was very cool. I stood over the box sifting through it and picking what I wanted and such. Then I went through what I picked out and pared down some things.
I ended up buying what you see in the picture above. A handful of black and white photographs, some postcards (really cool ones!) from Kyoto, Japan and a Daredevil comic book (because it looked cool.)
You know, it is a very odd feeling to look through someone else's discarded pictures. You get over it after a minute or so but still... very odd indeed.

Into the Wild Blue Yonder
Have you ever been...nervous to send out your mail into the world?
This went out to my friend Stephanie in Japan yesterday. I was so paranoid about it getting there, I didn't do anything too crazy with it. (But since it so obviously lacked something--oomph, I arranged the stamps differently than I usually do.) And I am anxious for this letter to reach its destination since there are actually two letters inside!! (That's what happens when I'm deprived of an address for a month and a half or so..) Because I don't understand Japanese addresses, I wasn't sure which part to cover up when I took the picture so hopefully there aren't any Japanese creepers around. If anyone could enlighten me on the Japanese postal system, that would be awesome!!! I think it'd be interesting to see how postal systems work in other countries... hmm.
